The setting is perfect for long summer evenings with a glass of local cider or as a cosy retreat in the winter time. A short drive away are the towns of Glastonbury Street Wells and Taunton; a little further out lies Bath and Exmoor National Park. There are many National Trust properties in the surrounding area High Ham s own unique thatched windmill being one. There are several sandy and dramatic coastal beaches to the north and south such as Lyme Regis and Burnham-on-Sea. It also makes a perfect place from which explore the Somerset Levels; cycle walk fish birdwatch or merely enjoy the peace and tranquillity the countryside has to offer. The accommodation has flagstone floors throughout and offers ONE bedroom: double that can be made into a twin on request. There is additional sleeping for 1 person on a sofa bed in the lounge and is available on request. Shower room: with WC. Lounge/diner: spacious area with TV Freeview DVD hi-fi and french doors. Kitchen: well-equipped with electric cooker microwave fridge with ice compartment dishwasher and washing machine. Outside: french doors from the lounge lead onto a paved patio and large private lawn with seating and BBQ. Guests can also enjoy the delightful 1 acre garden surrounding the owner s detached property. Amenities: undercover parking. Bed linen towels electric central heating and Wi-Fi included. Regret no pets or smoking. Cot and highchair are not provided but guests are welcome to bring their own. Location: beach 30 minutes drive shops and pubs 3 miles. With its lovely beaches beautiful countryside and fascinating history, dating back to the times of the Ancient Britons, Somerset makes a wonderful cottage holiday destination. And the best way to experience the county’s many attractions is from your base in one of our holiday cottages in Somerset. Bath has some of Britain’s most majestic Georgian architecture, as well as the famous Roman Baths (not mention great shopping). Then there’s Wells, England’s smallest city. Wandering around the cathedral close, with its unspoilt medieval lanes is like taking a step back in time. And for a real sense of mystery, there’s Glastonbury (home of the world-famous music festival), supposedly the site of King Arthur’s mythical Avalon. All await you on one of our Somerset cottage holidays. The county has more than its fair share of beach resorts too. The Grand Pier at Weston-Super-Mare is superb, as is the wide beach here, while Minehead and Burnham-on-Sea offer a choice of traditional seaside pleasures. Meanwhile, for nature lovers there’s the wild landscape of Exmoor, and the Mendip and Quantock Hills, both Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Cheddar Gorge is truly stunning. Great for real Cheddar cheese too!
